Sustainable Wardrobe for Babies at Jill and the Beanstalk!

If moms were put in charge of the Olympics, we’d have brand new events, including “changing the diaper of a baby who just learned how to roll over” and “getting home from a playdate in time for a nap without your baby dozing off in the car.” And while those would be hard enough, they’d be nothing compared to the grand finale: “keeping your baby’s wardrobe full of styles that actually fit.” Over the first few years, babies are constantly growing, and the onesie that was a little too big just last week will now barely snap closed. If you’re looking for a sustainable way to keep your child’s wardrobe up-to-date, let me tell you about Jill and the Beanstalk. This adorable shop provides your family with both new and used products, so you’re always ready for the next stage.

About Jill and the Beanstalk

Jill and the Beanstalk is a Toronto store that started when two moms (both named Jill!) met at a baby drop-in. They immediately connected and began to create a vision for a boutique. While the store is now just run by the one Jill, the shop has only grown. The store is split into two sections. In one area, you’ll find stylish clothing, educational toys, nutritious foods, and locally sourced goods. In the other, you’ll find a consignment shop filled with gently used baby clothes and products. Additionally, the store offers informative workshops for families. You can check out this thoughtful shop at 814 College Street.

Products

Jill and the Beanstalk provides a great selection of helpful gear to get you through the first few years of parenthood. Their zip-up sleepers are ideal for those late-night changes, while their weather gear will keep your child dry during the rainiest of days. You’ll be able to find diaper accessories, including wet bags, natural baby powder, reusable swim diapers, and changing mats. You can teach your baby all about good oral care with their toothbrushes and toothpaste. You’ll also be able to find shampoos and body wash to keep your baby smelling great.

While you’re at the store, you have to check out their fantastic toy selection! The shop is full of imaginative toys, including wooden food, magic sets, and everything you could possibly need for a tea party. Jill and the Beanstalk is also stocked with engaging books, musical instruments, and craft supplies.

Specialty

Jill and the Beanstalk’s consignment shop gives you a sustainable way to upgrade your baby’s clothing. The shop lets you drop off items that have been gently used. They’ll tell you about their preferred products and brands. So you know what to bring. Your items will be listed, and you’ll receive 50% of the sale price. While they no longer accept large items, they’ll list them for you so you can have a larger audience for your used goods.

The store’s workshops give you the opportunity to bond with other parents while learning useful information, including baby sign language and infant CPR. They also host regular clothing swaps so you can trade out the pieces your child has outgrown.
